TRAILER
Three of Cups is an experimental short film that captures an intimate, polyamorous night in Berlin shared between three friends—a nonbinary artist, a trans woman, and a queer straight man—each navigating personal transformation. Set during a winter gathering, the film explores love, identity, and the elusive beauty of change through quiet conversations and tender glances, revealing how these moments can fundamentally alter us.
The story opens with Marzipan, a nonbinary person beginning hormone therapy, in a contemplative moment on their balcony, reflecting on their journey. Inside, they share an intimate conversation with their partner Grace, a trans woman, about the shifting landscapes of their bodies and hearts.
As the night unfolds, Thomas, a curious straight man embracing his queerness, joins them, and the dynamics between the three come into focus: Marzipan and Grace’s deep, oceanic bond, Grace and Thomas’s passionate spark, and the tentative curiosity between Marzipan and Thomas.
As the friends move through the night, the film’s poetic style immerses us in the delicate, transient moments of self-discovery and connection. In the pale morning light, the three come together in a final, fleeting union, capturing the ways love and transformation intertwine to shape us.
